Covid-19 RT PCR swab test

Our most popular test is the Covid-19 RT PCR test, which is a Public Health England approved test, carried out at a UKAS accredited laboratory.  This is widely the gold standard test for COVID-19. Many countries now require a negative PCR swab test result with confirmation that you are fit to fly to allow you into the country. This is also the main form of testing for workplaces in the UK for return to work.

Our lab is accredited by UKAS (ISO15189) specifically for COVID-19 testing which is the necessary entry requirement for airlines and countries. UKAS is the only national accreditation body recognised by the British government.

Covid-19 Antigen testing

This is a swab test taken at The Medic Clinic and analysed in the clinic itself. The results come back in 30 minutes to show whether you are positive for the Covid-19 illness.

This test is accepted for many purposes such as schools, return to work and even entry to certain countries. The test kits we used are MHRA and CE approved for testing.

 

The accuracy of the Antigen test is:

- Specificity 100%

- Overall accuracy of 98.98%

Antibody testing (IgM/IgG)

The COVID-19 IgM/IgG Antibody test is performed by blood sample collection to check whether you have developed antibodies post infection. Antibodies can be detected 14 days or more following exposure or onset of symptoms.

Blood test results will be available in 24 hours from sample being received at the lab.

The Medic Clinic charges £150 for a Covid-19 PCR swab test which includes the certificate for flying if needed.

The results and certificates are issued within 24-48 hours.

The test is carried out at The Medic Clinic by a trained healthcare professional to ensure there are no inconclusive results. It involves taking a swab of the back of the throat and nose.

Yes, all our tests are carried out in a UKAS accredited lab (ISO15189) and signed by our doctors in our CQC registered clinic. Our testing and certification are universal for every airline and country in the world.

Yes we are able to test to release as have been accredited by UKAS and the DHSC for this purpose.

Under government guidelines you should attend on your fifth full day of self-isolation.  Please do not attend before this time.
