The Marr Therapy Practice

At the Medic Clinic Bedford, we provide a therapeutic service that is confidential, supportive and tailored to suit the needs of each individual client. We offer both short term and long term therapy depending on the presenting concerns.

This service is run by Victoria Potts, who has over 20 years experience working as a psychological therapist with adults, children and adolescents in a broad spectrum of therapeutic settings. We respond to each enquiry within 24 hours and offer sessions within a week of the initial enquiry. 

CBT Therapy

We aim to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.

Talking Therapy

Together we will aim to help you identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behavior by having open conversations with you.

Hypnotherapy

We will guide you into a deep state of focus and relaxation with verbal cues, repetition and imagery to deal with unwanted habbits, anxiety and other applications.

Art Therapy

This involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, colouring, or sculpting to help you express yourself artistically.

Pain Management

Our aim is to reduce your pain through various therapy techniques, ultimately improving your quality of life, in an environment where you feel most comfortable.

It can also help reduce high states of anxiety, you will learn how to lift low moods and aim to create an overall sense of wellbeing. We also offer additional information courses for parents of children with ADHD and Autism. This is for parents who wish to have a more in-depth understanding of your child’s diagnosis and learn skills to support your child within the home and educational setting.

 

Parent/Carer Sessions

When a young person is finding it challenging to sustain difficult feelings, we can often feel deskilled and helpless as a parent/carer. Therefore, we feel it is important to provide parents with the opportunity to discuss your concerns and learn how to best support the young person at this challenging time. We provide each parent with a toolkit on how to support their young person and guide you through the process.

We provide a free 20 minute phone consultation to understand what brings you to therapy and to answer any questions that you may have. We then book a 50 minute initial assessment where we explore more of your current situation, and what you would like to achieve from therapy. It is an opportunity to get to know each other and experience what it would be like to work together.
